It's my dream

Let's thank our troops

Posted on October 17, 2007 at 3:13 PM in Take a minute

One way that we can thank our troops is to be in prayer for them every day and with all that is going on over in Iraq and Afghanistan, they surely need it!

Another way we can thank them is to go to Lets Say Thanks and send them an encouraging e-card to let them know that they are not forgotten.

It's quick and easy and I'm sure would mean so much to those who are fighting for our country's safety.

Wasteful government spending!

Posted on June 23, 2007 at 11:17 PM in Take a minute

Did you know that as a U.S. taxpayer you have helped fund a transgender beauty pageant?

That is just one on a long list of bloated expenses by the tax-funded Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

CDC director Dr. Julie Gerberding recently told the U.S. Senate that her agency needed an additional billion dollars.

Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) decided to see how the CDC had spent its last $10 billion.

What he found will make you sick.

The CDC has wasted millions of taxpayer dollars during the past few years on everything from vegetable statues to zero gravity chairs.

Sen. Coburn shows in his report, "CDC Off Center," that the CDC has spent millions on lavish facilities, questionable conferences, and new offices in the home states of committee members who oversee its funding.

Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council, points out some of the
more outrageous line items:

  • The CDC used syphilis prevention funds to host a "safe sex" event with a porn star.

  • It spent $45 million for conferences, including some that featured prostitutes and beach parties.

  • On the HIV/AIDS front, one grantee hosted a "bar night" with instructions on "how to throw a good party with lots of alcohol."

Sen. Coburn reports that the CDC spent enough money on trips for employees to international AIDS conferences to underwrite drugs that would have prevented mother-to-child AIDS transmission in over 115,000 babies.

For other examples of how the CDC spends your tax dollars, read
Coburn Report: CDC Off Center.

But, instead of making good use of the billions the CDC gets, Dr. Gerberding says she needs an additional billion dollars to operate.

If Dr. Gerberding wants to keep the "safe sex" events with a porn star, international conferences featuring prostitutes and beach parties,

and a bar night teaching how to throw a good party with lots of alcohol, let her get it from the millions wasted by the CDC.

Take Action

1. Send an e-mail to President Bush asking him to tell the CDC to clean up its mess and give the taxpayers the stewardship they deserve.

2. Forward this e-mail to friends and family so they can see how the CDC spends its tax dollars.

Pray for Jessie's family

I don’t know why it’s so hard to think of something to write about the longer it’s been between times that I’ve blogged, but it is ...

Today, for the most part - I’ve been watching MSNBC and the coverage of Jessie Davis, the pregnant Ohio mom.

I’m absolutely sickened by the outcome of the search for Jessie and my heart is totally broken for her family and loved ones.

Please keep them in your prayers as this is the worst thing that a person could ever go through.

I had planned on writing a longer post right now but instead of writing other things in with this one, I’ll instead - write a separate post for other things.

Love,

Jennelle

Tell Congress "No!"

A bill in Congress makes it a crime for pastors and churches to speak against homosexuality.

The Message being sent to pastors and other Christians is:  Just keep your mouth shut.

If pastors and other Christians don’t aggressively oppose a bill now in Congress, in the near future they will be subject to huge fines and prison terms if they say anything negative about homosexuality.

The proposed law would make it a crime to preach on Romans Chapter 1 or I Corinthians Chapter 6. Or even to discuss them in a Sunday School class.

If churches and individuals want to keep the government from telling them what they can and cannot preach and teach about homosexuality, they better get involved now!

Click here to read about the bill, it would make negative statements concerning homosexuality, such as calling the practice of homosexuality a sin from the pulpit, a “hate crime” punishable by law.

This dangerous legislation would take away your freedom of speech and your freedom of religion. Consider what has already happened:

  • A California lawsuit which is headed to the U.S. Supreme Court would make the use of the words “natural family,” “marriage” and “union of a man and a woman” a “hate speech” crime in government workplaces. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has already ruled in favor of the plaintiffs!

  • CNN and The Washington Post both reported that General Peter Pace, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was fired because he publicly expressed moral opposition to homosexual behavior.

For the Alliance Defense Fund’s summary of this bill, click here.

Take Action

We are looking for one million Americans willing to take a stand and not allow a small group of homosexual activists to take away our freedoms. Can we count on you?

Click on the link below to sign our Petition to Congress in Defense of Religious Freedom.

Please forward this to others, especially your pastor, and ask them to get involved in protecting our freedoms of speech and religion. This threat to our religious freedoms is real!

Help make a little boys dream come true!

bdayparty

There is a sick 7 year old boy in Canada named Shane who wants to beat a world record to get over 350,000 million birthday cards.

His birthday is on May 30th so there are only 18 days left if you’d like to send him one [and I hope you will!]

Maybe you are a teacher and you could get your class to do this, they dont have to be store bought ones -you can make them.

For the cost of one stamp you could help to make his wish come true [he wants to be able to get into the Guinness Book of World Records.]

If you want to help and put a smile on Shane’s face, please click on the link below.
