Why having an Emergency Fund is important.........

With Dh away his payday is this Friday and our mortgage is due this Friday. We have been having quite a bit of snow off and on and I thought well what if it storms and I can't get to pick up his paycheck and then the mortgage payment doesn't go through? I would have been soooooooooo stressed! Yesterday I transfered the amount of $ for our mortgage and a few other things to hold us over till Dh gets home this Monday.....no problem, no worries....when we get his pay I can just transfer it back LOL!

I am so thankful that we have this freedom, I am even more determined to keep funding our Emergency Account!:)

Anyhow, just had to share I really am proud of all our accomplishments and whenever I read how someone is putting in even a couple of $ away here and there for their emergency fund whether just starting out etc.... I smile and have such a wonderful feeling as I know that once they experience the joy of freedom, even a bit it will be a life changing decission for them :) As I have mentioned before, I have transfered $1 and change into mine from time to time......nothing is too small, it really does add up!

You have inspired me! Hey even change adds up!
<br>If it wasn't for our savings and no debt other than mortgage we would have been sunk 3 years ago when Dh lost hs job and ended up retraining....but because I had practiced frugality I had the skills and financial cushion to help us make it through tough times. Yes an emergency fund is essential!!! I need to get back into making mine!

You are a great manager! Were you always good at managing finances or did you learn along the way?

Isn't it great to have money to fall back on and not have to worry for days on end if the deposit gets there on time! You're doing a great job and you always inspire me.
