Boxing Day Sales and Boxing Day Money :)

Last year and this coming year our family will be venturing out for Boxing Day. Boxing Day is the day after Christmas when all/most of the stores and shopping centers slash their prices down even further from their orignal sale prices. Money which family/loved ones send for Christmas Dh and I usually divide up between our 3 children so they will have some money to shop the sales. Some stores have the boxing day sales on  anywhere from Dec 26th up to the last day of Dec.

Dd was showing me a pair of shoes which she would like to pick up on boxing day in this paticular store called Freedom Central. While we were there one of the store employees came up to us and told us that on the 26th of Dec they have such big sales that people are lined up outside the hallway of the mall to wait to get in( I know, crazy) The employee then told dd that on boxing day you can buy one item at full price and get another item of equal or lesser value free. I thought that maybe he is mistaken and the other item of the same or lesser value would be 1/2 price but then again, they already have that sale throughout the year so maybe the 2nd item is free...lol.

I do not like shopping in crowds so I might wait on a bench in the hallway of the mall while the girls go and look.

I may venture into a couple of stores to pick up a few Christmas gifts for next year though.

Now that the kids are older this actually saves us alot of money. Last year dd then 14 couldn't believe the prices of the sales durring boxing day. Although their money will be limited lol.

Another interesting thing is that there were signs up in the stores stating that there will be no returns allowed on the 26th and 27th of Dec. I don't remember seeing this in previous years as usually I find the line ups  in the stores at the customer service is packed with gifts being returned.

      Blessings to All

Wow...I bet you all do get some really great stuff. I have never heard of boxing day. The day after Christmas is just a mad dash to stores for most people here in Kansas City. I don't like the crowds anymore, but my girls go. They wouldn't miss those sales...Merry Christmas to you ...Kathy

Thanks so much for explaining that. I wasn't sure what you were talking about!! It sounds like a lot of fun, but I'm like you, I don't like the crowds. Hope your girls have fun!
