I have a feeling that I am missing a few goals...I sat at the table yesterday trying to think of them, I looked around on other message boards too trying to get ideas and reminders these are what I came up with:
(1) Open a sub-account with our ING for a Christmas 2007 fund.
(2) Start a money jar for Birthdays and fund it every payday, I will keep this jar in my closet lol.
(3) Keep funding our RRSPs, every payday "pretaxed" this is our retirement account.
(4) Have our emergency fund fully funded
(5) Start a New to us car fund
(6) Pay extra on our Mortgage each month, I would like to match the amount of principle.
(7) Pay off the credit card which Dh used while in British Columbia by Feb 1st 2007. Plus we did end up using a couple of extra hundred durring Christmas, Dec was a very emotional month for us with the passing of Dhs father.
(8) I would like to be able to furnish our family room with New to Us furniture with cash.
(9) I wrote 3 cheques in 2006 for the first time in about 9 plus years and hated it. So back to not writing any cheques starting in 2007. I don't like wondering when the cheque will be cashed even though the money is in our account to cover it. I wrote 2 cheques to our dd's school, one for basketball and one for soccer in Nov, they did not deposit the cheques until Dec. 15.
(10) I will have a veggie garden in 2007 by gosh! Oh yes I will lol.
I know this all seems like alot of money to come up with and I have to work out the "kinks" to make this work but it is doeable. I just have to stay focused and remember how important it is for our families quality of life to reach and maintain these goals.
We are taking equity out of our house but it will be going into an ING account . I am going to start a new Entry on that one in just a few minutes as I am torn about this, I feel like I failed somehow.
Have a Blessed New Year Everyone and you are all in my thoughts |
