This Post is More of a Vent if Anything lol.

Lately I have been doing terrible with spending, my weakness are my two dd's. It just seems like everytime I turn around dd 15 is saying Mom, I need money for this or that. My other dd 14 isn't too bad but when I give to one I have to give to the other and it is adding up like crazy!

I never use to be this bad, where did I go? Who am I becoming, what about my dd's? How will they be with their money when they are out on their own?

I have come up with a solution, well, sort of. I am going to write down every penny in which they get so that I can go back and refer to it and show them.

The bank of Mom and Dad is now Officially Closed!

Still waiting on dhs commission....his boss went to Flordia this week on holidays and said he would pay dh when he gets back........UGH!!! I need to get that Emergency fund fully funded and the verandah up to par. Not to mention he is slack when it comes to paying dh his Pretaxed retirement money to put into our retirement plan. We are losing "Compound" interest while we wait and wait The thing that really upsets me is that if dh hadn't of had that taken off of his pays to begin with his boss would have had to pay the gov't taxes and dh his pay right away.

I work for him once in awhile and I am going to go in there when he gets back and let him know how I feel about this. I have to or else I will go completely insane!

Well, I am off to read a few pages in a financial book.....

      Happy Thursday Everyone

I can relate to the dd's needing $$!.
Mine are both going to college, one is transferring to University, one just entering community college full time! They both work, just part time, that is their spending $. WE pay their medical & dental expenses & help w/ other things, sometimes going in 1/2. But they are a bit older than your dd's (21 & 17). It is a difficult time in the teens when they want/need so much for school & activities. For my 17 year old, she works extra for me when she wants something or extra $. she has a part time job. I buy her whatever clothes she finds at the thrift store, she has to save her own $$ to go to the mall for brand new clothes. A few times a year I will pitch in for new necessities. she has gotten better at saving & more into taking the opportunities of thrift shopping with me. We will go once or twice a month & get lunch out sometimes. With her being homeschooled, we didn't have all the usual expenses of high school as we did w/DD1. As I remember, that was a crazy spending time!
Hope things work out well for all of you!

I can totally relate to spending when it comes to the kids. I am much more likely to buy them things than buy things for myself. Sometimes you just have to put your foot down and say no. I know this must be relly hard with teenagers. They have so many wants and like to keep up with their friends.

I, too, would feel like giving your hubby's boss a swift kick you know where! He should have paid your husband before he left on his trip IMO.

I just got to the part of Dave Ramsey's videos (still bummed you didn't get to do that!) where he talks about kids and money. He said that when his kids got to be 13 and up, he and his wife sat down and figured out how much they spent per year on them - things like clothes, entertainment, activities, stuff like that. Then he opened a checking account for each of them, divided the annual amount by 12, and put that amount in their accounts each month. The kids were in charge of what they spent and when it was gone, it was gone, no questions, no begging.

I really liked that suggestion - wish my parents had done something like that with me!
