Mod dress for an evening at a retro lounge

I had this cool moleskin dress I bought at a yard sale last year for $.10 and only a few hours to make something awesome to wear to a cocktail hour at a retro lounge tomorrow. Here's the before:

Kinda dowdy huh? I chopped it into two pieces and excised about 8 inches out of the middle. I converted the collar to mandarin, chopped the sleeves and made binding for the sleeve edges. I then attatched the belt to the front of the dress. Here's the after:

I feel like I have to apologize for all the green projects I've been making. It hasn't been intentional but it is weird that everything is green! Hopefully I'll be posting a purse tutorial on Sunday with a purple fabric. That should be a nice change! Please leave a comment!
