Locket Love
David says I'm going to wear it out -- opening and closing it. A few weeks ago, we were given an opportunity to sign up and receive a locket from a company by the name of Pictures on Gold. We were to email them a picture, and make a few selections to whether or not we wanted it on the right side or left side. What we would like engraved on the front and/or back. And there were several selections to what you wanted done with the picture.
My mom died suddenly several years ago, and a day doesn't go by that I don't think about her, or miss her. Yes, the sharp pain of grief has lessened, and I can get through the days. But the memories linger on. When trying to decide what picture to send this company, I kept coming back to my mom. I picked out one of she and I -- when I was just a few years old. I don't have any recent pictures of us, but I'm not sure even if I did, that is what I would have used. There is just something special -- connecting the two of us, when and where it all began, when I was a child, and the unconditional love she gave me all my life. I ordered the locket, and received it this week. It is beautiful. Not too big, not too little. The picture has been lazered into the silver. It is something that will last forever, won't get ruined if it ever got wet. Something I will treasure forever.
