A Touch Of Wonder

July 31, 2008 - Facing

Ethan should be home any time now. Wonder how his day went? He is a cashier at our local grocery store. He likes what he does, and he likes the interaction of people who go through his line. Everyone seems like to like him, and he's been there for over a year, so that says good about him as well. When there aren't any customers to check out, the cashiers are assigned an isle, and they are to "face" them (meaning, line the boxes or cans or whatever back up in a nice neat row -- after customers have gone through and taken them out of the line). I don't think that he has ever had to face the acne products. He usually gets the canned fruit isle, or the pop isle. He hates the frozen food isle. Very cold to work with. I feel guilty now when I go grocery shopping, because I know I am creating more work for the kids. But, that is all part of it, so I guess I don't feel THAT guilty. [grin]
