The good life

So this is it...

I'm starting anew. It seems that everytime my husband and I get into a good place, we lose it. We're doing "ok" financially. We owe on our credit cards again, we still have our student loans. We're not in our overdraft anymore, which is good. Everything is so up in the air right now because we're searching for a new place to live. We don't need to pay rent this month, since its our last month. That will help us save for when we do find a new place. I'm excited to get out of this place. I'm sick of the druggies, the cockroaches are disgusting, though I must admit we haven't seen one in a few days so thats really good! Right now, we're paying about $40 a week in groceries, I'm hoping to get this down a little more, maybe by cooking more from scratch, but this may not happen. I'm starting a new job next week. The hours suck but its more money. So far, its 4:30pm to 1 am. I won't see Jess at all, except weekends. But I'm also keeping my other job, so I will be working there 2 or 3 days a week. I don't know how we're going to do this, but we need the money so bad. I mean, Jess's parents have been doing this for years. They only see each other on weekends during school months because his mom is custodial at nights. I just feel so bad for him. I think before I go to work each day I'm going to prepare dinner so he doesn't need to worry about it because the poor boy can't cook! I'm gonna have to search for more crockpot recipes!

So I have some goals. Hopefully, this blog allows me to keep accountable for my actions...So here they are...

Open up an IGN savings account...we need a REAL Savings account!

Get my time organized...I dont have much when I start this job

Learn how to drive and get my full license...this is an absolute must

Stop buying unnecessary things and eating out...another must

Good luck with the new job and the work schedule. It sounds like you have a plan in place. I am considering a second job too to help with our expenses.
