Not only are these colorful lit'l blooms pretty and fantastic first notes of the spring symphony to come, but they're sentimental--in their very first year. Our first crocus blooms on this homestead...awww. They already bring back memories of planting the bulbs together a few months ago...we had so much fun! This homestead is our dream, planting flowers on our homestead is our dream. So, these perky lit'l flowers are full of our love and hope. I think that's what home is all about. Our love and hope.
Nice photo of your crocuses! Your zone is ahead of ours, the crocuses here are just sprouting up. Ours are special to our homestead too as they have a history to the property going back many years. I don't know who planted the original bulbs, but they were put in over 30 years ago (that's when our family first took ownership). A few years ago I dug up & planted various stray crocuses from all over the yard & got many bulbs to transplant. It is fun & exciting to see the first spring flowers popping up & finally blooming!
I love your crocus blooms, they are tiny miracles after months of snow. I'm going to take a walk through my apartment complex this afternoon, it's sunny here and I want to see if I can find signs of blooming. It will warm my heart :).
The picture of your crocuses is beautiful. It brought back memories. When I was in grade school (back east), we planted crocuses around our flagpole and they came up in the spring through the snow and looked so beautiful!!
