Ok, so yes I am pregnant and that should explain why my BMI is 28.1 (obese is 29.4 :() ....but what was my excuse 6 months ago or a year ago. I tried to sell it as baby weight from my first son, but now that he's in school im thinking that excuse is growing a little worn. Anyway Karen over at www.pediascribe.com has invited us all to join her in the Tales from the scales challenge http://www.talesfromthescales.net/2007/09/the-old-and-the.html and although i don't want to lose weight at the moment, I do not want to put on the 60 lbs i did last time. My doc says exercise would be good, and i figure walking is my best bet, I enjoy it and I can take the little one along with me..plus its free. So here's to a healthy pregnancy.

today continuing my clean up all this mess crusade. i used some free copy paper boxes to organize all the baby/toddler clothes my son has outgrown, i sorted them by size and lined them up on my sons top shelf (typically unused cause i can hardly reach it even with a step stool) after giving it a much needed shop vac'ing. i still have one box of clothing that he could still fit in the spring that i need to check out to see if he can wear any of it this fall. then i went down an sorted through the christmas decorations to see what i had accumulated and get a sense of what i may need to replace, i managed to pull out a whole shopping bag to freecycle/ goodwill/ ncc . In additon to the mountain of stuff i have piled up over the summer. The next step is to get my hubby to help me go through my vast collection of purses and tote bags, cause its clear i cannot be objective i really need to pare that down some. we also have a few dvd that need to be cleaned, i get him to take them in, and i have a ton of movies i have borrowed from family members so i pledge to watch at least one a week til they are all returned. Party at my house .....argh

is it wrong of me to feel annoyed? my sister and BIL's friends came to a party at my house (my sis lives in an apt) we have done this before without incident as my sister is older and so her friends are generally mature. well this particular party was a less mature crowd and although the party never got out of hand (due to my mom voice) people managed to spill drinks all over my house, almost set my porch on fire, and leave a layer of mud all over my hardwood floors and leave my bathroom rug in a muddy heap so gross i almost trashed it. is this reasonable? is this what usually happens when adults have parties and have i just been lucky up til now? its strange cause my sister and i are very close eventhough she is 8 yrs older but her friends are more the jock beer funnel crowd and mine are the young parent/ family type. but now worries cause she is getting a house and can host all the parties from now on.
Cleaning up and a Moratorium on toys..HELP!

Inspired by Karen over at pediascribe, I spent the first half of yesterday cleaning and reorganizing my 3year old's room. with a new baby on the way I figure its best to stay on top of the toy/ clothing purge so there will be room for someone else in that tiny bedroom (at least theoretically). You know what i discovered, and im sure this will shock you moms, that my son has entirely too many toys. toys he never plays with, so many toys he could not possibly get to them all. strange toys. so i grabbed 2 garbage bags and filled one up with broken missing pieces toys and the other with good condiditon toys that he will never play with and hopefully some one a goodwill will be blessed this christmas as half are still in their boxes. And don't even get me started on books, that is mostly my fault, it was the buckling of a bookcase that inspired this clean up. The thing is, he has a birthday in october and christmas is right around the corner. how do i call a moratorium on toys, a hiatus, a strike! We have a tiny house and my son has everything he wants already. he is just getting interested in some of the toys he got for his last birthday. HELP we have a 824 sqft house (yes we also have a finished basement but i do not want a play room!!) How do I politely ask loved ones not to buy him "things" for his birthday memberships would be ideal, edible stuff is good, cash is great cause i used it to buy him shoes throughout the year LOL. any suggestions? { Last Page } { Page 1 of 4 } { Next Page } |
